Millersville Downs Bloomsburg in Baseball

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader with Millersville in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action on Saturday. The Huskies lost game one 9-5 and dropped game two 17-5.

In game one, Millersville jumped out to a 6-0 lead through four in a half innings before a Matt Allen's (Willamsport/Clarion) RBI triple ended the scoring drought, followed by a Carlos Medina (Lititz/Manheim Twp.) single to knock in Allen. The Huskies would add two more runs in the bottom of the fifth, but would come no closer. Chace Phillips (Milton/Milton) gave up four earned runs in three innings on the mound four Bloomsburg.

In game two, Bloomsburg ran out to a 4-1 lead in the first inning thanks to a two-run double from Tony Donofry (Newtown/Council Rock North) and a Tyler Ganser (Lancaster/Lampeter-Strasburg) RBI single. Millersville responded with six runs in the top of the second and never looked back. With the loss, Bloomsburg falls to 8-21, 2-4 in the PSAC Eastern division.

The Huskies return to action tomorrow for a 1 p.m. double-header at Millersville.
